Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas, as I did. And, now upon us, another new year!

It's interesting how as I get older the days really do get shorter, and the years fly by and I'm

left wondering what has happened to the time? Hoping more and more each day that

I'll make good use of my time, now - more than before.

If there could be one wish for me for the New Year it is that we can all make better use

of our time - spending it with family and friends. Not fighting wars, struggling to eke out a living or

pinching pennies to make ends meet. Here's to a better, happier, friendlier New Year for everyone!

At this time of year, we all seem to realize just how important each and every person in our lives is to us. Be sure to let them know. Make a call, send a card, give a hug and above all Remember the reason for the Season! Take care of yourselves and those you care about. Be kind to one another and to yourself. As I go along on this "journey" I will be posting different musings that I have written. Some are pretty good, others not so much, some downright awful! But, for good or not, here they will be.

Survival

The storm has passed

Calmer than ever before

But what is left behind?

The coral strewn

along the shore

must be traversed carefully.

As relief washes over

that damage was minimal

a realization creeps through.

That although there’s comfort

trepidation exists

for a future no one can predict

So precautions are taken

as much as possible

but remember to leave room

For as fragile as all seems

after the storm

There’s room for much growth

It survived because of it’s strength.

Too busy, no time!

There's been just too much going on lately to be able to get anything accomplished! Seems the powers that be have me confused with someone who is able, physically, to run hither, thither and yon and still be able to multi-task in a upright position! lol I have enough problems when I'm sitting! All that being said, it's that time of year when things seem to pile up faster, fewer things seems to get done in a lot more time and we find ourselves frantic at the thought of all that needs to be done, bought, decorated, etc. Well, it's time we all learned to slow down, cull our lists, do only what is absolutely necessary and concern ourselves with only those things that truly matter - the people in our lives. We don't have to buy a bunch of gifts to tell people we love them. A card, a phone call can do the same thing and is SO much more personal and meaningful. I know you are thinking "she's crazy if she thinks my family will settle for.....". Well, that's the thing - is accepting the fact that someone took the time to call you or send you a card to say "I Love You" merely settling? I think not! That, above all else, is the most important thing we can do AND accept. So, try it. Don't give in to the temptation of buying beyond what you can truly afford - even Santa has to cut back this year. Buy less, give more of yourself, and a chocolate candy can go a long way-that's why they are called "kisses". lol

Another new one. This one is a "stretch" for me, as I don't normally do dark very well, lol. Having a blast using PSPx2 though.
